Youth Bodywork Policy and Reccomendations
Client Communication Policy
• Response Days: I check and respond to messages on Mondays and Wednesdays.
• Client-Heavy Days: Wednesday through Saturday are my busiest days with in-person sessions. On these days, I can respond briefly if it’s urgent (like adjusting an existing appointment), but new client inquiries or detailed messages will be addressed on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Youth Bodywork- is a specialized approach to help young athletes and active kids improve their movement, prevent injuries, and support overall physical well-being. It focuses on the areas of the body that experience the most stress during sports and other physical actives, promoting recovery, flexibility, and proper alignment..
Benefits of Youth Bodywork
-
Prevents injuries
-
Relieves muscle tension from overuse
-
Improves flexibility and range of motion
-
Enhance body awareness and posture
-
Supports recovery from minor strains, sprains, or overuse.
• Consistency Over One-Offs: For optimal results, regular sessions are recommended rather than one-off appointments. Consistent bodywork helps address tension, improve mobility, and support your child’s overall performance, especially for young athletes involved in gymnastics, basketball, or other high-impact activities.
• Ongoing Care: There isn’t really an “end goal” for bodywork — it’s an ongoing part of your child’s wellness and athletic routine. Regular sessions support preventative injury care and help your child maintain optimal physical performance throughout their sports activities.
• Booking & Availability: I book appointments 4–6 weeks in advance, and my schedule for youth clients is very limited. I highly recommend being added to the schedule early to maintain regular sessions and prevent gaps in your child’s care.
• Scheduling: Planning ahead and booking recurring sessions will help maximize the benefits of bodywork and ensure your child stays on track.
• Parent Presence: Parents are present during the intake process to provide important medical and activity history. Once the session begins, the parent may step outside the room but must remain in the building. This allows the child to fully relax and get the most benefit from the session while maintaining safety and supervision.
