Cupping & Massage Therapist
Specailizing in Sports Therapy & Pain Management
At a glance, you would never guess that I have undergone two major back surgeries in my life. At the age of 9, I was diagnosed with a slipped disc, which required my lower lumbar to be fused. Then, at the age of 12, during a routine yearly X-ray checkup, I was diagnosed with Scoliosis. 2 years later, at the age of 14, I underwent yet another back surgery to straighten out my spine with Herrington Rods. As a result I adopted the philosophy "what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger." Through all of this I developed a sixth sense for pain; if not for my own pain I would not be where I am today: educating and helping my clients to live a pain free life.
As a child, I experienced a lot of physical pain related to my back. The Filipino culture believes highly in the therapeutic benefits of natural healing such as massage. In our language, “MASAHE” (Ma-Sa-He) is the word used for Massage.
While my husband and I were stationed in Norfolk, Virginia in 2006. I met a fellow Navy Wife who was a Certified Massage Therapist. I became intrigued in Massage Therapy because of my own past. After researching the various schools in the area and the opportunities to help manage my own pain and those of others,
I enrolled in Massage School and the rest is history!
I graduated in October 2006 from Kee Business College in Cheapeake, Virginia.
In 2015, I completed a Medical Massage Workshop from Rolfer Marty Morales, who is Art Rigg’s protégé and founder of the Morales Method. Through successful completion of these rigorous Medical Massage workshops, I am able to specialize in clients who suffer from the following conditions: Headaches/Migraines,TMJ, Frozen Shoulders, Carpal Tunnel/Tendinitis, and Ankle sprains and strains
In 2018 I added an old, but new therapeutic approach to my practice, Cupping Therapy. It has been around for thousands of years used all over the world predominantly most recognized in South East Asia. Cupping Therapy in the Philippines is also known as Ventosa "Fire Cupping." I am truly honored to be able to use it in my practice since my Grandmother was also a well known "Cupper/Healer" in her hometown Bicol, Philippines. You can say "Cupping/Healing" is in my blood.
With the skillful art of Cupping, Massage, & Bodywork, it is a comprehensive therapeutic approach to what ails you! I believe "Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional." ~ Buddha
